Dear Friends and Fellow Naturists,
Some of you may already know that, to my great sorrow, Barry passed away on the 13th July. He was 83 and had been battling increasing ill-health for some years. We held his funeral - which in fact was a celebration of his life and the extraordinary man that he was - on the 25th July at the Chilterns Crematorium in the hills above Amersham in Buckinghamshire. It was a beautifully warm and sunny day.
Barry loved being in El Portus - as far as he was concerned it was his paradise in retirement. He greatly enjoyed representing the site in the UK and helping people to go out there - it was his 'hobby' and kept his brain active, he often said. However, we knew that the day would come when he was no longer able to do it and we always said that if we ever had to hand over then the ideal person to approach would be Andrew Welch, a friend through naturism of some six years' standing. To my great relief Andrew expressed an interest and he and Aurelio Vaquero, the Site Director met, liked each other, and agreed to a switch-over. I could not be more pleased because I'm sure that Barry's 'baby' will be safe in Andrew's hands.
Andrew has been a naturist for over 20 years and has worked freelance for BN for several years, he has a passion for seeing naturism and the places in it thrive. He has over 25 years' experience of marketing all gained in the service industry where having happy clients is essential. Working from home means he isn't tied to office hours and I know he will put himself out to make sure that your holiday plans come together as smoothly and trouble-free as possible.
